The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (HWCOM) at Florida International University (FIU) and Baptist Health of South Florida (BHSF) seek applicants for a full-time, non-tenure position at the rank of associate or full professor. The Designated Institutional Official (DIO), in collaboration with the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs (SADAA) provides overall strategic and executive operational leadership for Graduate Medical Education (GME). The DIO, serving as the Associate Dean of GME will be a direct report to the Florida International University (FIU) Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (HWCOM) SADAA and [for Joint FIU-Baptist Health Programs] will also have a reporting relationship to a senior physician executive at Baptist Health. The DIO will be responsible for all administrative oversight of the Office of Graduate Medical Education (OGME), including FIU-Baptist Health joint programs as applicable.
This individual, in collaboration with a Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC), must have authority and responsibility for the oversight and administration of each of the Sponsoring Institution’s ACGME-accredited programs, as well as for ensuring compliance with the ACGME Institutional, Common, specialty-/subspecialty-specific Program, and Recognition Requirement.
The successful applicant will be responsible but not limited to: provide oversight of institution’s ACGME-accredited residency programs and fellowships; in collaboration with GME Leadership Team, develop the vision and direction of GME in alignment with the HWCOM-BHSF strategic plan and goals; approve program letters of agreement (PLAs) that govern relationships between each program and each participating site providing a required assignment for residents/fellows in that program; oversee submissions of the Annual Update for each program and the Sponsoring Institution to the ACGME and after GMEC approval, oversee the submission of applications for ACGME accreditation and recognition; request for voluntary withdrawal of accreditation and recognition, and requests for changes in residency and fellowship program complements; chair the Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC); and provide administrative oversight for all ACGME required activities.
Required qualifications
Education: Advanced clinical degree (MD or DO).
Licensure/Certification: Florida Medical License (current or eligible).
Preferred qualifications:
Experience in GME such as former DIO or Assistant DIO, 5 or more years as Program Director of an ACGME-accredited program, and training in medical education related to faculty development.
Additional experience providing administrative oversight for ACGME institutional and program accreditation including authoring program applications, managing ACGME site visits, self-study and other reports.
Management and leadership skills as required for membership on the Executive Leadership team. Commitment to patient and team centered medicine. Outstanding interpersonal relationships with peers, supervisors, and staff. Demonstrated commitment to process improvement. Desire to be involved in GME at the regional and national level.

The O’Neal was one of the first eight NCI-designated Cancer Centers in 1972 and has been continuously funded for 46 years. It is the only NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center in a four-state region in the Deep South. The O’Neal treats over 5,000 new cancer patients annually and is engaged in comprehensive and integrated efforts in cancer care and delivery research. The Department of Pathology at Stanford University seeks an academic pediatric pathologist to join as Director or as a faculty member in Pediatric Pathology, depending on experience and qualifications. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in Anatomic Pathology and Pediatric Pathology or Anatomic & Clinical Pathology and Pediatric Pathology (or equivalent qualification) and must hold an MD or MD/PhD and hold or acquire a license to practice medicine in the State of California.
The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the University Medical Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. The major criterion for appointment as Clinician Educators is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administration and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. Academic rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

The expected base pay range for this position is:
Assistant Professor: $244,000 – $256,000
Associate Professor: $290,000 – $302,000
Professor: $348,000 – $360,000

It does not include all components of the School of Medicine’s faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs. The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at the University of Vermont, the seventh oldest medical school in the nation, seeks a nationally recognized physician leader and scholar in family medicine to serve as the next Chair of the Department of Family Medicine. The Larner College of Medicine works closely with the only tertiary academic medical center in Vermont, the University of Vermont Medical Center. Together, they offer leading-edge clinical, research, and educational programs. The UVM Health Network, a health system with six hospitals, a large multispecialty physician group, outpatient clinics, home health, and hospice, serves the population of Vermont and northern New York.
The Department of Family Medicine has a long tradition of commitment to providing excellent, state-of-the-art patient care, education, and research. The Department has two ACGME-accredited family medicine residency programs and an ACGME-accredited hospice & palliative medicine fellowship. Family Medicine provides patient care across twenty-eight ambulatory clinics and health centers, an academic medical center, two community hospitals, three critical access hospitals, and a respite house. The Department employs 59 faculty, 87 non-faculty physicians and 73 APPs, 35 family medicine residents, four dental residents, and two hospice and palliative medicine fellows. The Department of Family Medicine Research Division focuses on research to advance the science of social connection, healthcare communication, and the application of socially just conversation analytics in healthcare redesign. Current research departmental funding, including NIH grants, is more than $14M.
The next chair will bring a strong track record of leadership and successful mentorship of diverse faculty, development of sponsored research programs, excellence in care delivery, commitment to the education of the next generation, and a proven leader and advocate for excellence in diversity, inclusion, and equity initiatives. Qualified candidates must hold an MD or equivalent medical degree; be board-certified in Family Medicine and eligible for medical licensure in Vermont and New York and have credentials appropriate for an appointment at the rank of associate professor or professor (clinical scholar or tenure pathway) at the University of Vermont.
