Mentorship Program

Sister-to-Sister Mentoring Program: Provides a guided mentorship program for black women physicians, physicians in training and pre-medical undergraduate students. The Wellness Series: Wellness series workshops are organized, implemented and facilitated by physician volunteers. The series is offered in community forums that serve to educate community members on primary prevention services, diabetes, hypertension, asthma, HIV/AIDS, obesity, and general health and wellness issues. These comprehensive workshops serve as a bridge between the medical establishment and the community by offering healthy eating options, didactic learning sessions, and hands-on involvement. Ultimately, these sessions empower community members to be more active participants in their own health care. Charity & Scholarship Benefit: Historically, our annual fundraising benefit has raised over $700,000 in scholarship funds for medical students demonstrating exceptional academic progress, community involvement, and financial need.
