Calling all future healthcare leaders!
The Association of Black Women Physicians (ABWP) awards Black female medical students each year with our Rebecca Lee Crumpler, MD Scholarship. This annual scholarship empowers African American female medical students residing in or attending medical school within Southern California.
Each year at our Annual Charity & Scholarship Benefit Gala, we fundraise to support the Rebecca Lee Crumpler, MD Scholarships that are then awarded to local deserving female medical students. For over four decades, the ABWP has championed the cause of Black women in medicine, supporting physicians, trainees, and medical/undergraduate students through initiatives like our Scholarship Gala. Thanks to the generous support of sponsors and community partners, ABWP has awarded over a million dollars in scholarships.
Why Apply? Scholarships are awarded based on a combination of financial need and academic merit. But most importantly, we seek outstanding candidates who embrace the ABWP's mission.
